G-MELINA

Description and it's uses overall

Gmelina arborea timber is reasonably strong for its weight and durability.Once seasoned, it is a very steady timber and moderately resistant to decay and ranges from very resistant to moderately resistant to termites. It is used in constructions, furniture, carriages, sports, musical instruments and artificial limbs. Mainly rhis timber is imported from South American countries and West-African countries(namely brazil,ghana,Ivory coast etc.)

TEAK

Used extensively in India and within its natural range for centuries, Teak has grown into a worldwide favourite.With its superb stability, good strength properties, easy workability—and most of all, its outstanding resistance to decay and rot—it's no wonder that Teak ranks among the most desired lumbers in the world. Generally it can be used in Ship and boatbuilding, veneer, furniture, exterior construction, carving, turnings, and other small wood objects.This wood is imported from South American and West-African countries.

Hardwood is the most common form of timber apart from softwood.Hardwoods are often used to make items that get used a lot because of their density. These items include furniture, flooring, and utensils. They are also used in construction.Furniture made by hardwood joinery is more expensive than that made from softwoods.All hardwoods are angiosperms(yields flower).

ROSEWOOD

Description and it's uses overall

Commonly imported from malaysia,indonesia Rosewood is a timber whose attractive colour has made it popular. It is used to make musical instruments.Apart from that it is also used in furniture,veneers.It is also used to make knife handles.In panelling also this wood is helpful.Some of the trees grow very highly figured burrs.Rosewood is generally imported in small quantities.

  • When it is freshly milled it can have lether-like scent

  • It is ring porous or semi ring porous
